Before retiring Ms. Johnson was a Human Resource Executive involved in all aspects of human resource management. Training and development responsibilities summoned her to Mexico, Canada, Europe, South Africa, and extensive travel within the United States.

She holds a Masters Degree from the University of San Francisco. In addition to SPHR certification, she has a Lifetime Community College Instructor's Credential.

Ms. Johnson was previously involved with AARP through the Community Presence Team (CPT). She is a founding member of the Foundation and past President.  Her involvement on the Commission on Aging continues after "terming out" as President. She is also very active in her church.
