Support for Fall Prevention Programs in Stanislaus County
The Stanislaus Senior Foundation is proud to announce that $5,000.00 has been granted to the Healthy Aging Association to support the "Young At Heart" Strength Training Fall Prevention Program in Stanislaus County. Inactivity in older adults increases fall risk, causes a decline in health and leads to premature death. Older adults need to be physically active not only to reduce falls, but to delay the onset of physiological changes that occur with aging such as the loss of muscle mass, weaker bones and an increased risk of chronic diseases. Young At Heart classes are interventions for a better quality of life.

The "Young At Heart" classes serve over 600 older adults throughout Stanislaus County.
