On November 1, 2020 Krupa Sharma, MD, HMDC joined the team at Seva Hospice as Chief Medical Officer.  Dr. Sharma is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as certified in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).  She has devoted her professional career to providing compassionate end of life care through a patient centered approach to hospice and palliative care services. Dr. Sharma also currently serves as the Medical Director for the Stanislaus County chapter of  the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California (POLST) and as a Board Member for The Stanislaus Senior Foundation.

In addition to providing ongoing education and medical support to Seva Hospice and the patients that they serve;   Dr. Sharma has been assisting Seva in developing additional programs that support the mission of the We Honor Veterans program (WHV).  WHV is a partnership program with collaboration from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Dr. Sharma  previously served as Medical Director for Sutter’s Advanced Illness Management (A.I.M.) program, hospitalist for Sutter Memorial Medical Center,  and has worked as a hospitalist and inpatient palliative care physician for Kaiser Permanente. She is passionate about helping others and educating a variety of audiences on the benefits of Palliative Care and Advanced Care Planning.  Dr. Sharma and her husband, who is also a local physician, share three beautiful children together.
